Wired and Wireless Data Network Systems

HY Wired Network System
A wired network involves physically connecting your computer or docking station to the internet using an ethernet cord or wall jack, not relying on wireless internet. While it might be less convenient, there are several advantages to this type of network.

Wired networks are generally more stable and reliable because being physically connected reduces the chances of losing the internet connection or facing delays. Stability is compromised by signal interference or physical obstacles like walls.

These networks are not visible to other wired networks, minimizing interference and allowing network nodes to communicate effectively for data transfer/storage.

In comparison to wireless networks, wired networks are often faster, especially in buildings with obstacles to wireless signals. Physical connections are quicker and more reliable, unaffected by unexpected traffic. Unauthorized users cannot connect unless they use an Ethernet cable.

Wired networks are secure with firewalls and other protective measures. Daily business operations, utilizing correct ports, network monitoring, and wired connections with security technologies, are safeguarded.

HY Wireless Networks
Wireless networks operate by sending radio signals, allowing devices to communicate without physical cables.

The cost of wireless depends on the space needing connectivity. While structured cabling and hardware are still needed, there are fewer cable drops and wall jacks required. The overall cost depends on your business’s unique needs, like the number of access points and routers.

Unlike wired networks, adding or upgrading wireless systems is easier. Expanding or adding employees requires less disruptive physical work, often just running a cable to add a wireless access point in a new area, which is simpler than installing wall jacks.

Mobility is a significant advantage. Wireless connections provide flexibility for office workers to access the network from any location using any device. Guests can easily join a public Wi-Fi connection, and collaboration becomes possible wherever there is connectivity.
